In My Mailbox (86)

(hosted by The Story Siren)
(Sadly, this awesome mailbox is not my real mailbox. I found this on Photobucket courtesy of Dode2006)

It is 4th of July weekend so I haven't gotten much reading done, but I have received several things in the last few weeks!

Received from Stella at Ex Libris for winning her 222 Follower Giveaway:

Thank you very much Stella! I've been wanting to read this book for a long time! Congratulations on getting 222 Followers! Everyone, please go take a look at Stella's Blog and follow her on Twitter (@Stella_ExLibris). She's a wonderful blogger!

(Sent from BookDepository.com)

Stolen  - Kelley Armstrong

Bought from Amazon.com:

Lost on Planet China - J. Maarten Joost (This is for my Book Read 'Round the World Event)

Checked out of my local library:

When the Bough Breaks - Jonathan Kellerman (for my real life book club)
Esperanza Rising - Pam Munoz Ryan (to discuss with a friend on Shelfari)

...and last BUT DEFINITELY NOT LEAST--Queue angels singing Hallelujah Chorus:

From Woot.com:
Danielle (@the1stdaughter) from There's a Book tweeted about this Woot.com item of the day. I was so excited because it was $40 off but decided not to get it because I have a Sony Reader. My husband said, "Just get it." I said something like, "No, I can't justify purchasing it because I already have a Sony Reader (and I like it)." The next day I was having non-buyer's remorse and told my husband it had sold out. He said, "Well, it's a good thing I already ordered it then."

My new Kindle! Bought by my husband for me! He's the best!

Aww, your husband is so sweet! $40 off a Kindle? I'm jealous! I'm planning to order one as well now that the prices have dropped and I checked, the shipping would cost around $40 if I have it shipped to here and it will arrive in a couple of days.

Oh look at the shiny new kindle! You definitely have the best husband in the world. :)

There are some great books there. Cant wait to check out your reviews.

@Sarah - Oh, it's already gone to his head! ;) He was pretty awesome to buy it for me even though I don't need it. I feel so spoiled now! I'm really not a big spender!

I am very sad that I haven't read all the Otherworld books. It's been about a year since I read Bitten. I really liked it!

@Chachic - Would you consider buying a Sony Reader? I have one of those too and really like it. They just switched to ePub format so people can now download from multiple websites. I will definitely keep using my Sony Reader. I love it too!

I did get the $40 off the Kindle but because Woot.com is a Texas-based company we had to pay sales tax which made it only about $22 off. That's ok. It was still a good deal.

I was thinking of getting a Sony Reader since it was cheaper but now that Kindle dropped its prices, I think I'm leaning towards that. I've heard from somewhere that the quality of the e-ink of the Kindle is better than the Sony Reader? Not entirely sure about that. I do like the pink Sony Reader though but I don't think they have worldwide capabilities and they don't deliver to the Philippines.

$22 is still a good deal!

Aw thank you Carin, I'm glad you received it and I hope you'll like it! Continue with the Women of the Otherworld series, it is a fantastic series! :-)

And what a wonderful husband you have! Amazing how he knows you better than you know yourself and that he anticipated you regretting not buying a Kindle, what a sweetie he is! And congrats on your new Kindle, it looks great! Right now I'm also saving up for one :-)

Carin, you got a Kindle even though you have a Sony Reader? Not sure I would do that, I love my Reader, it even has a name....:-).

Carin said...

@Rikki - What's your Reader's name? That's an awesome idea. Honestly, we got another reader so that when we traveled we would each have one. He kept stealing mine on trips so we were taking the Reader and at least one book a piece. I like to travel light so it was a pain to carry around multiple books!
