I feel kin...@Samantha - Thanks for the suggestions! I feel kind of bad, but I've only read one book by Steinbeck. Can you believe it?!! I've only read Cannery Row by him which I did enjoy.

I also added Soulless to my reading list because I've been meaning to try out a steampunk novel. No worries about the shameless self-promotion. I like finding new blogs!Carinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06306757884348058544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5536666202192801656.post-90106810843099750182010-06-24T13:56:09.419-06:002010-06-24T13:56:09.419-06:00I see you already have quite a list going, but I&#...I see you already have quite a list going, but I'm going to add another Steinbeck because it's one of the best books I've ever read - East of Eden. I really enjoyed Grapes of Wrath, but East of Eden is supposedly semi-autobiographical and just brilliant!

I saw that you like adult Sci-Fi/Fantasy. I just read Soulless, a steampunk novel by Gail Carriger. It was really good if you haven't read it yet. If you want to stop by my blog I wrote a post yesterday on steampunk too (I try to steer clear of shameless self-promotion, but I think you'd like it if you like sci-fi/fantasy genres). :)Samanthahttp://runnersami.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5536666202192801656.post-9521629298180311232010-06-21T21:17:09.245-06:002010-06-21T21:17:09.245-06:00@stacy - I would like to try to read them all in 2...@stacy - I would like to try to read them all in 2011! If you think of any others let me know. I just realized that the American History we get taught in school is pretty sanitized and I'd like to learn more about what else went on in the country besides what we read in high school textbooks. I also realized that for that reason, I wasn't terribly interested in American History, but I've been realizing lately that our history is pretty cool. :)Carinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06306757884348058544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5536666202192801656.post-84747458513336548832010-06-21T17:52:26.503-06:002010-06-21T17:52:26.503-06:00wow, what a fantastic list of books! do you plan o...wow, what a fantastic list of books! do you plan on reading all of these books in 2011?

i saw the "lies my teacher told me" in the bookstore and almost bought it last week...i may just have to go back and get it now!Stacy at The Novel Lifehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11438410877723922583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5536666202192801656.post-6725787464551765042010-06-21T14:01:19.786-06:002010-06-21T14:01:19.786-06:00I would like to put them all on my TBR list. I am ...I would like to put them all on my TBR list. I am not sure when I'll get to them. Lonesome Dove will probably be the first thing I read since you know...I live in Texas. I've only read one book about Texas ever! I'm secretly still fighting the fact that I live here. :)

The second one I will probably give a try is the Tulip Fever one (it just sounds really interesting). Grapes of Wrath will definitely make my short list, but I would like to give all the books a try.

One of the non-fiction ones I will probably just check out of the library. I know I won't agree with his point of view, so I won't bother giving him royalties with a purchase, but I will still give it a try.Carinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06306757884348058544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5536666202192801656.post-67516350029712678842010-06-21T13:57:51.658-06:002010-06-21T13:57:51.658-06:00You've got some great recommendations there! I'll let you know what it's like.

Are you going to read all of these, or a selection?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
